Workshops: Mayans & Aztecs

In our wonderfully vibrant Meso-American workshops we bring to life these advanced, ferocious, highly structured but stone-age technological civilisations.

Session 1 – The Power Pyramid

With costume and equipment we have 6 volunteers dressed up as the 6 levels of Meso American society as we look at who holds power.

Session 2 – Crazy, Colourful Cities

This session sees your children engaging in a round robin of exciting activities based around the Mayan City, from floating
gardens and city planning to Mayan Beauty & Fashion!

Session 3 – Barbaric Battles

With the use of our amazing foam weapons, we conduct training and battle highlighting the culture clash between Meso American culture and European technology

Session 4 – Jungle Warriors

With a mixture of real equipment and our signature foam weaponry, we get a number of children kitted out as Pre-Columbian jungle warriors.

Session 5 – A Severe Sacrifice

In this finale, we conduct a Meso American ritual to appease the Gods complete with Pok a Tok ball game, human sacrifice and celebration!

The children loved every minute of it and they were all engaged from the minute you arrived to the very end. The tasks were fantastic and brought the whole topic to life for them. The mummification was by far their favourite and most memorable. The closing ceremony for the day was incredible and brought all of their learning to an end in a brilliant way.
