Workshops: The Great Fire of London

In these workshops sponsored by The National Emergency Services Museum we immerse your young people in exactly what happened…as it happened with hands-on round-robin activities throughout.

Session 1 – Colourful Characters

A short dramatic introduction to the key protagonists involved in the fateful events.

Session 2 – Unsuspecting London

This round robin sets the scene for the events leading up to the fire including the bakery where it started, the outbreak of plague and Samuel Pepys diary.

Session 3 – London’s Burning!

This fast paced session sees children reacting to the fire in real time with fire fighting, house clearing escape and much more!

Session 4 – Rebuild London

We slow things down for this classroom based round robin of activities to rebuild London stronger.

Session 5 – A Monument

We pull together as a giant construction team to complete all the tasks needed to complete our very own life-size monument to the Great Fire of London in the school Hall.
